The David Kenneth Group is seeking to add a qualified Lead Virtualization Architect to its team of experienced data center migration professionals. We specialize in data center transformations. Our services include data center migrations, infrastructure and virtualization optimization, and advisory services for large enterprise clients. Data Center migration projects are mission-critical, come with inherent risks and the qualified candidate must have previous experience with data center virtualization migrations, consolidations and/or relocations. Due to high demand for our services, we are seeking to add a Lead Virtualization Architect to our team.

The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate subject matter expertise in virtualization technologies. This candidate has extensive experience in data center migrations. This is a position where you will be directing team virtualization efforts based on your design product. The ideal candidate will work to resolve the most complex migration issues and demonstrate good judgement in selecting multiple methodologies for resolution. Personal interaction skills are needed for you will be working directly with the migration team and with the clients as well; technical staff and management. This role will also lead and mentor engineering/architectural staff. Experience Requirements

  • 10+ years of Technology Infrastructure experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with VM designing and implementing enterprise (multi-site, >250 VM’s) virtualized and cloud based infrastructure
  • 5+ years of consulting experience
  • Must have at least one of the following certifications (VCP-DCV, VCAP, etc)
  • Hands-on implementation of VMware up to 5.x and 6.x & Guest OS are a plus
  • Must be able to articulate ITIL best practices within a data center migration
  • Expert knowledge of one or more Operating Systems (Windows 2003/2008/2012; Linux-Redhat, SUSE, etc)
  • Working knowledge of Networking (Troubleshooting connectivity at host & vm level, Distributed Virtual Switch)
  • Working knowledge of Storage relation to virtualization (Provisioning, connecting hosts to FC, NFS, FCoE Storage)
  • Significant P2V & V2V experience using scripting and/or tools (Converter, DoubleTake, Platespin, Veeam)
  • Hands-on experience with VMware automated tools such as PowerCli, vCO
  • Must be able to support VM related highly-available and business critical infrastructure
  • Ability to communicate and present ideas to technical staff and management concisely

 

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supervising and mentoring virtualization engineers and architects
  • Data Center Migration experience
  • Cisco UCS and/or converged compute/storage/network solutions
  • EMC, Netapp, or IBM storage & technologies relating to virtualization
  • Storage Virtualization & Replication Experience (RecoverPoint, SnapMirror, SRDF, VPLEX)
  • VDI (Citrix or VMware)
  • Cisco Nexus (including storage networking)

 

Additional Information

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Full time position/w Benefits
  • Ability to travel as needed with prior notice (approximately 20-30% 1wk/per month average within continental US annually)
  • Telecommute ( willing to support any U.S. Time Zone)
